Terrestrial cable installation completed

Port Vila, 23/11/13: Interchange has completed the terrestrial cable installation from the Mele Bay Beach Man Hole to the Prima Cable Landing Station (CLS) facility. We have also completed the installation of an additional terrestrial fibre service that links our Landing Station to the Vanuatu Internet eXchange (VIX) in cooperation with the eGovernment network. This means that ISPs and Telcos may now meet the subsea fibre service at a centralised CBD location to which existing connections are in place. The Interchange terrestrial fibre extension eliminates any requirement for these firms to install additional fibre optic terrestrial cable to access our service in January 2014. Many thanks to Fred Samuel and his eGov team for supporting this initiative.
