Interchange receives telecommunications licence in PNG

Port Moresby, 13/05/2014: Today Interchange (PNG) Limited was awarded an Individual Network and Gateway licences in PNG. With a licence already secured in Solomon Islands the pathway is now clear for Interchange to finalise funding of a 3,500km extension of the existing ICN1 cable.

VU – FJ Cable latency test

Port Vila, Vanuatu 10/1/14: Interchange has completed signal latency tests between Port Vila, Vanuatu and Suva, Fiji over our new ICN1 cable. The result? 12.51 milliseconds round trip. In other words the signal travels the entire 2500km cable length in 0.01251 of a single second.

Fiji – Vanuatu Subsea Cable Laying COMPLETED!!!

Port Vila 25/11/13: Alcatel Lucent Submarine Networks completed the cable lay between Suva, Fiji and Port Vila, Vanuatu @ 0630 this morning. ASN is now focused on commissioning the dry plant (incl. electronic subsystems). Interchange remains on track to achieve a 15/1/2014 Ready for Service date.
