The recent earthquake has caused catastrophic damage to Interchange Limited’s infrastructure, significantly affecting connectivity services. The team is working tirelessly under challenging conditions to restore operations. Here’s the latest update on the recovery progress:

• Damage Assessment: The earthquake has severely impacted the power systems at the landing site, rendering the station temporarily inoperable.
• Recovery Efforts:
  • Teams have worked 19 hours straight today, restoring power to two of the three critical systems (A and B). The third system (C) will be addressed starting tomorrow at 7:30 AM.
  • Power restoration is a prerequisite for rebooting the sea cable’s lasers, which are essential for connectivity.
  • Support from partners, including Digicel, has been instrumental in the progress made so far.
• Safety Measures:
  • Earlier updates revealed hazardous conditions at the site, with staff exposure to fumes necessitating hospitalization. These issues are being managed to ensure the safety of all personnel.
